“What I’d like to do is to help people understand the importance of what he was doing, and that we all have that responsibility, so it’s not just on one person.”

Dr. Boyd speaks about Abbington’s legacy as an editor and advocate for African American sacred music, the importance of discussing text and theology in rehearsal, and our responsibility to learn and continually seek out new music.
